About Jim Chaffee, MAOM Lic Ac

My name is Jim Chaffee and I am a licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registry of Medicine to practice acupuncture; and, due to my Chinese medicinal training, to use Chinese herbal medicine.

I specialize in difficult to treat medical issues such as:

• Autoimmune syndromes
  (CFIDS, Fibromyalgia, etc.)
• Chronic, acute, and sport's related pain
• Allergies
• Men's sexual problems
  (Erectile dysfunction [ED], premature ejaculation, etc.)
• Women's sexual problems
  (PMS, Endometriosis, chronic vaginitis, etc.)

I came to study this medical therapy through personal experience. I had suffered with migraine headaches for almost 35 years, using Western medications for most of that time with very little success, and was facing surgery as a last ditch effort to alleviate them. A friend suggested acupuncture that I had done at the school's clinic. After 12 sessions, my headaches stopped and I decided to investigate this medical modality in greater depth.

I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1998 after completing a full-time 3-year, 9-semester Master's program in both acupuncture and Chinese medicinal therapy, including 1½ years of clinical practice. After graduation, I took and passed the national boards for acupuncture and opened my office in October of 1998.

I reside and practice in Marlboro Massachusetts. I am a current member of the Acupuncture Society of Massachusetts and a member of the National Sports Acupuncture Association. I help to publish a quarterly journal entitled the New England Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is published in both Chinese and English. I also teach at the Assabet Valley High School evening classes each semester.

Policies

I provide a complimentary consultation service for people who are interested in what this style of medical practice might be able to do for them. I prefer working in consultation with a person's Primary Care Physician when possible.

I accept insurance when available and offer the insurance discount that most insurance companies offer to their subscribers.
